APT's Software Development team has extensive experience developing both web-based and desktop applications ranging from engineering to business solutions for a variety of industries, including mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, plant design, geographic information systems, computer-aided design, safety analysis and risk assessment, and B2C. The team's experience spans all phases of product lifecycle, from requirements to design to implementation to deployment, specializing in object-oriented, multi-tier software architecture; web-based and database-driven applications; workflow and usability; user-interface design; internationalization.

  • Software is developed using best industry and SEI practices.
  • Development of user friendly tools
    • Range Test Scheduling System (RTSS)
    • Safety Assessment for Explosives Risk (SAFER)
    • IME Safety Analysis for Risk (IMESAFR)
    • Ground Risk Model (GRM-WSMR)
    • Debris Risk Assessment (DebRA)

Accomplishments

  • Designed and developed a web-based tool used to schedule range activities (RTSS)
  • Designed and developed a risk-based explosives safety software model (SAFER)
  • Selected to develop an advanced test planning and analysis tool for WSMR
  • Served as independent evaluator of analytical software

IMESAFR

Institute of Makers of Explosives Safety Analysis for Risk (IMESAFR) is a probabilistic risk assessment tool used to calculate risk to personnel from explosives facilities. This tool is a supplement to the longstanding American Table of Distances. Whereas, ATD provides a level of  safety based on explosives quantity and distance, IMESAFR determines a level of safety based upon risk. In addition to explosives quantity and distance, IMESAFR uses the donor structure, the activity at the donor, and the structure of the exposed sites to determine the level of safety....more

Range Test Scheduling System (RTSS)

RTSS is a fully web-based range scheduling tool that allows users to request time and support organization resources in order to conduct tests on ranges. All users have visibility of range schedules weeks or months in advance. View the RTSS demo here.

Safety Assessment For Explosives Risk (SAFER)

The SAFER model calculates the risk to people from an explosive facility. The event probability, explosives effects and consequences, and exposure of personnel is conducted...more

Site Assessment of Tornado Threat (SATT)

SATT is an expert system to analyze National Weather Service data to research the historical database of all tornadic activity in the United States since 1950. It provides a statistical analysis, track map, and threat contour display of all tornadoes matching user-defined criteria...more

Ground Risk Model (GRM)

GRM simulates worst case trim turns from a nominal trajectory followed by flight termination. Modeled turns are based on the Range Safety Officer response time and maximum vehicle capability. Debris fragments are propagated to impact or aircraft altitudes and hazard footprints are developed for each time increment. Casualty expectation is computed for each population center/asset within the hazard area and total mission risks from malfunctions are determined.

Analysis of Death and Injuries Resulting from Explosions (DIRE)

DIRE uses state-of-the-art consequence modeling to determine the optimal location of explosive facilities in order to ensure minimal loss of life and structural damage should an accident occur. With the ability to input variable factors such as explosive distance and quantity, on a variety of different structures, DIRE provides a user-friendly tool for finding valuable hazard information. View the DIRE demo here. The Demo requires the Java runtime software to be installed on your machine. If you have trouble viewing the demo, click here to load the Java software.
