BREEZE AERMOD/ISC GIS Pro
BREEZE AERMOD/ISC GIS Pro for Windows® is a new generation air quality modeling system used to support both regulatory and non-regulatory modeling requirements worldwide. This application is used to assess the impact of air emissions from a variety of industrial sources and includes enhanced versions of both the AERMOD (with PRIME) and ISC dispersion models. These models predict pollutant concentrations from point, line, area, volume, and flare sources with variable emissions in all terrain regimes.
AERMOD/ISC GIS Pro includes all of the features in AERMOD/ISC Pro along with many additional features. Users can now perform more functions while maintaining the speed and user-friendliness of all BREEZE products.
Pro and GIS Pro
BREEZE AERMOD/ISC Version 4.0 is available in two performance levels.
- Pro - A streamlined modeling system designed for the air quality professional that needs the raw processing power available from BreezeX"! technology but does not require the added power and features of the GIS Pro version. Comes complete with BREEZE enhanced versions of ISC & AERMOD, both with and without PRIME.
- GIS Pro - Includes all the features of the AERMOD/ISC Pro system plus a completely integrated geographical information system (GIS) and numerous other productivity tools. This system is designed for professionals who require the flexibility associated with using different map projections and map types. Comes complete with BREEZE enhanced versions of ISC & AERMOD, both with and without PRIME. Unlike Pro, the GIS Pro version includes:
- Integrated GIS System
- Options to perform population analyses
- Shapefile basemap options
- Graphics - provides direct link to Surfer® to transfer modeled results and object data. Allows you to copy/paste receptor information and concentration results to spreadsheets
- Windrose generator - depicts wind speed and direction patterns to illustrate prevailing wind conditions.
- User has control over period to display.
- Metview - for viewing and editing meteorological data
- Unlimited data entry undos
What's New!
There are a number of feature and performance enhancements to version 4.0.
- New Installation procedures
- Compliant with Microsoft® installation procedures for all Windows platforms.
- Deliverable via CDROM or Internet download.
- File directories and project file names can have spaces within them.
- New 2D Map View for very fast display refresh rates
- Functions as main view in Pro version.
- Functions as supplemental view option in GIS Pro version for rapid scenario prototyping. Switch between views by selecting Map View preference in the Options/Preference form.
- Enhanced 3D View
- Faster display rates and less memory intensive.
- Includes 3D model result contours and legend.
- Includes terrain-shading options.
- Includes Z-scale distortion option for exaggerating project scenario? s that have slight terrain or model objects height variations.
- Includes options to select model objects for editing.
- Includes automated rotation of 3D View using Cntl+Alt+Shift key combination.
- Added report summarizing project input options (Input Summary Report).
- Added a Modeling Wizard for novice or infrequent users (accessible via the Tools menu).
- Added option to perform a Population Analysis (GIS Pro version only)
- Option to use PRIME model is now specified in the Control Options and is retained with project input file. PRIME option is no longer a preference in the Options/Preference form.
- Added additional model object appearance options in both Standard 2D and 3D views:
- Wireframe (same as in version 3.x)
- Solid
- Transparent
- With Surfer 7 or higher, new gridding methods are available to user for seamless contouring within BREEZE.
- Added Contour Options tool button for quick access to gridding and contouring options.
- BPIP run option moved from Tools menu to Analysis menu.
- EVENT run option added to Analysis menu.
- Added new Navigation toolbar with buttons that are shared between 2D and 3D views (reduces number of mouse clicks).
- Added ability to import Shapefiles.
- Added ability to output Shapefile boundary coordinates as UTMs.
- Added ability to import DEM files that do not have carriage returns and line feeds (you don't have to run CRLF anymore).
- Added option to display DEM boundaries in the 2D Map View (with our without file names as labels).
AERMOD Overview
AERMOD is a state-of-the-science dispersion modeling system that simulates essential atmospheric physical processes and provides refined concentration estimates over a wide range of meteorological conditions and modeling scenarios.
AERMOD includes two data preprocessors for streamlining data input. AERMET, a meteorological preprocessor, computes boundary layer and other necessary parameters for use with AERMOD and accepts data from both on-site and off-site sources. AERMAP is a terrain preprocessor that simplifies the computation of receptor elevations and effective height scales for numerous types of digital data formats, including USGS 1 Degree and 7.5 minute digital elevation model (DEM) files and U.K. Ordnance Survey® digital elevation data.
ISC Overview
The Industrial Source Complex (ISC) short-term model predicts pollutant concentrations from nearly any type of source emitting non-reactive pollutants. It allows you to define receptor grids and consider topographical features for each receptor location. You are also able to input above ground-level heights to simulate the impact at elevated or "flagpole" receptors.
