Corporate Giving Fund Donations for 2023

As part of APT's continuing commitment to give back to our community through the APT Corporate Giving Fund,

In 2023, employee-owners contributed a total of $16,590!

Charities that received the donations are as follows.

Harmony Farms uses therapeutic horseback riding to teach riding skills to individuals with a diversity of disabilities. Therapeutic riding is beneficial for all all ages for those that present a wide range of cognitive, physical, and/or emotional conditions. "At Harmony Farms, we emphasize ability - not disability." Responding to the diverse needs of those with disabilities for over 30 years, Harmony Farms, with Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors, services 60 riders a week with a waiting list. As a not-for-profit charity, we are dependent upon the support of the community and local businesses. Our funding is primarily through donations, grants, rider fees, and fundraising events.

Kudos to Terry Edwards – Launch Services SMAE 3, for heading up our Aero APT Giving Fund Committee, and making sure the giving fund distributions were handled professionally.

The Children's Hunger Project
We Are Ensuring Local Children are Fed on Weekends

For hungry children, school is more than just a classroom, it’s a source of food. Help us ensure that children are also fed on weekends and during school breaks. TCHP assists during summers at locations that provide food to children, and we partner with United Way of Brevard for the Summer Feed & Read program.

Many organizations have federal and state funding. We rely on the generosity of corporations, civic groups, faith-based organizations, and individuals, as well as our wonderful volunteers who prep, pack, and distribute all of the backpack food to the schools.

Friends of Rescue (FOR) is an all volunteer 501(c)(3) non-breed specific dog and cat rescue.  All of their animals are in foster homes in the Huntsville, AL area – not in cages. They are up to date on all vaccines, spray/neutered, and micro-chipped. Their goal is to help end the suffering of homeless or unwanted animals in North Alabama by providing them quality medical care, interactive foster care in a home environment, training, and committed forever homes.

APT Huntsville made a donation to the Boys & Girls Club of North Alabama. Their mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us the most to realize their true potential.

The Livin’ Room is an all volunteer 501(c)(3) organization. Our objective is inclusion. The Livin’ Room is a local 100% volunteer service center where those with needs are honored and aided in a caring, neighborhood-like way.  Our facility at 2820 Governor’s drive is at a crossroads of a community with needs and a new generation of volunteers.  As important as it is to help those in need, we believe developing a new generation of volunteers is also vital to our community.  We connect caring people with specific local service and resource needs to help our neighbors. We work with neighborhood children, veterans, parent support groups, the homeless as well as provide neighborhood life-skill training.  We are partnered with local government through the Huntsville Housing Authority and work with numerous local nonprofits.

The Huntsville Concert Band is a community band that played its inaugural concert in April 1964. The Band is a community of volunteers with a wide range of musical and professional skills and experience. The Music Director and all members are volunteers. Music teachers play alongside students who are just beginning their musical careers as well as retired rocket scientists who haven’t played since high school.
